Keeping Up With INETA

Currently the most discussed topic on the net is the amazing growth of social networks Twitter and Facebook. There are many services and applications that work with or enhance Twitter and Facebook using their API. Did you tried Facebook Developer Kit for Visual Studio? Are you familiar with LINQ to Twitter or Twitter.NET? On Codeplex you can find a bunch of interesting .NET applications to start developing your own social networking experience:

Did you know that beyond the INETA newsletter and website, you can follow the goings-on of INETA on Twitter and Facebook? Did you know that you can even start your own volunteer blog?

There is even more chances to engage with INETA: we are currently accepting volunteer applications for country leaders in different countries in Europe; a key INETA volunteers who represent the developer community in their countries and work towards building the community. In order to apply for the position of a INETA country leader, submit a profile of your community activities and affiliations to:

Can’t believe the time has come around so quickly again but we already in the planning stages for Microsoft TechEd Europe 2009. We’ll talk much more about this subject in our next newsletter.

Sincerely yours,

VBUG 2009 Charity Challenge...

The Microsoft UK Challenge, part of the Intelligent Sport ® World Series in aid of the NSPCC is the ultimate team-building event for businesses across the UK. Three days and four nights of adrenalin filled action see teams kayaking, mountain biking, navigating by torchlight and running, but also using their brains to crack codes and complete complex tasks. With details confirmed only hours before each stage, teams compete against the clock and against each other, while the organisers constantly push them to their limits.

Now in its ninth year, 2009 teams will compete against the stunning backdrop of the Cambrian Mountains, mid Wales from 10 – 14 June. As part of the Intelligent Sport ® World Series, teams will be competing to strive for a place in the World Team Challenge held in December 2009. And with an ambitious target to exceed the money raised by 2008 teams and a fundraising trophy at stake too, there will be tough competition to be the top fundraisers in 2009 as well as the top competing team.

More info here.

Our communities in a nutshell...
 Ronua - Timisoara

Our community is part of RONUA family of communities and is active since 2005. The online activities are held here Our meetings are held on diverse locations lately at the local technical university.

We talk about Microsoft technologies with focus on .Net. Our member’s interest is diverse in all areas of .Net development targeting desktop, web or mobile. Our target is to have a competent pool of speakers from our membership (our members are involved with the local Toastmaster club).
Our target is one informal meeting (for planning) and one formal (deck and demos) per month, each month except holidays, with audiences 20 upwards. On occasions (such as the launch of Visual Studio 2008, Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008), we held events together with the local IT UG ITBoard. RONUA Timisoara members have held several LiveMeeting presentations with a country wide audience.

We plan to have each year a foreigner speaker up to now we have had: Kathleen Dollard and Maurice de Beijer. Thank you INETA!

For this year we plan to finish the SQL Server 2008 launch events and move on to the newest technologies Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010.
